In the heart of Cap Malheureux, just a short stroll along Chemin Vingt Pieds, the roots of The Amigo Group were planted. It began in 1985, a family dream brought to life by Ambigah Parasuraman, alongside his father. With a vision that was both simple and profound, they embarked on a journey to create a place where delicious food and warm hospitality intertwined, celebrating the joy of shared meals and the bonds they forge.
Our inaugural establishment, the Amigo Restaurant, quickly earned its reputation as a beacon of seafood excellence, known far and wide for its commitment to quality and the unparalleled dining experience it provided. Ambigah’s relentless dedication laid the foundation for what The Amigo Group would become—a testament to the values of family, friendship, and the pursuit of culinary perfection.
In 2004, the torch was passed to his wife, Nalini Parasuraman, following Ambigah’s passing. With grace and resilience, she carried on the legacy, ensuring that the essence of Amigo—the celebration of life’s simple pleasures through food—continued to thrive. Under her stewardship, the restaurant not only preserved its cherished traditions but also embraced innovation, setting the stage for the next chapter in our family’s story.
Today, the three sons of Ambigah and Nalini, are honoured to carry forward the legacy that was entrusted. Building on the strong foundation laid by the parents, they have expanded The Amigo Group, introducing “The Amigo Bar” and “Nenban,” a modern South Indian restaurant that pays homage to our heritage while reimagining traditional flavours for contemporary palates.
With every dish served and every glass raised, they honour the memory of their founder, Ambigah, and the indomitable spirit of their mother, Nalini. The Amigo Group is more than a collection of restaurants and bars; it’s a celebration of our family’s journey, a dedication to excellence, and the love for bringing people together.
You are invited to be a part of their story, to share in their joy of discovery and the timeless tradition of breaking bread with friends and family. Join us as we embark on the next chapter of The Amigo Group’s journey, an adventure that promises new flavours, new friendships, and endless possibilities.
Welcome to The Amigo Group.
